How To Change Your Grades On Infinite Campus

Infinite Campus: Setting up the Elementary Grade Book
Before Setting Up Grade Book:
- Go to Account Settings at the bottom of the far left menu
- Preferences
- Pick Campus Instruction (this should be defaulted)
- Check desired Student Display Preferences (can be adjusted as needed)
Grade Book Set Up:
To get started:
- Click on Grade Book in the Index of Campus Instruction
- Click Settings
Step 1: Calculation Type (select 1)
- select Grade Calc Options
- Types
- No Calculation
- In Progress Grade (DO NOT CHOOSE THIS OPTION — for traditional grading only)
- Proficiency Estimate (rubrics)*
- Method:
- Power Law (looks at trends)*
- great for frequent, consistent items (i.e. once a week or so)
- Highest Score
- Mode of Last 3
- Mode of Last 5
- Most Recent
*Recommended settings for Grade Calc Options
Step 2: Setting Up Categories
- Select Categories in the Settings Menu
- Click Add to add a new Category
- Name the Category
- We recommend that you use only 1 or 2 categories
- Evidence -OR-
- Formative Evidence and Summative Evidence
- Weight: 0 (this is the default)
- Sequence: 0 (this is the default)
- Select all standards for ELA and Math
- Optionally you could select this for ELD and Behavior, for example, if you were recording assignment level data, but there is no district requirement in the other disciplines.
Step 3: Assignments
Drop downs at the top of the screen:
- Select Term:
- Select the
- Selec the Section you are grading
- Click the Add button
Assignment Detail:
- Assignment Name — full name of the assignment
- Select an Abbreviation for your assignment (Needed for quick reference in the Grade Book)
- Be consistent about your naming system
- Leave setting “as is” except for the Assigned and Due Date
- Due date must be set to a date within the desired term for the grade
- This is especially important near term change dates
- Not using Select a template (skip)
- Teacher Notes are for your eyes ONLY
- Portal Description is for parents (they can see what you put in this section)
- Student Work Product (none)
- Standards
- Select those Standards that will be scored for this assignment
- Yes, you can choose as many or as few as is appropriate
Do not use this section:
- Click Save
- Click Close OR New Assignment

- Click Score to enter scores for this assignment (see next section for more information)
Step 4: Entering Scores into an Assignment
From Assignment set-up
- Click Score
- enter scores for each standard
- Use the Fill Scores/Comments to auto-fill a column of scores or comments
- individual scores can be selected and changed after an auto-fill
- Click Save
- Click Close
From main screen:
- Find the Assignment
- Click the Expand arrow
- Click on Fill Scores/Comments to fill in this view
- Select an item to fill
- Click on arrow for auto fill value
- If you want to auto-fill a comment, click the box and add comments
- Select Students
- Choose the fill type
- All — fills in all the boxes
- Empty — Fill boxes that have no value in them
- Empty and Present — Fills boxes that have no value in them and for students who were not marked absent on the day the assignment was due.
- To change a score in the Grade Book, double-click on any grade in the column and make your adjustment. Be sure to save at the top of the page.
- Click on Multi-Score to go to the scoring editor illustrated in the last section
- you can auto-fill different scores for different standards assigned to that assignment with this option.
